Every woman's cycle is unique to themselves. There are lots of reasons why your body messed up your cycle dates. Sickness, medications, moods, eating habits, weight loss or gain and countless other reasons as well. Just being stressed out about an upcoming exam can do it or achange in sleep schedules can do it. Also maturity can do it and so can having a baby. You name it, anything can alter your cycle. I wouldn't be concerned about it unless you start having irregular cycles all the time. If you do, then you may need a check up to make sure your hormone levels are ok and that nothing else is causing it. Remember though, that whatever day you start, even if it is late, you count from that date to get your next cycle's start date. Some women never have regular cycles and others are never on a 28 day cycle either. Some are on a 30, 31, 35, etc day cycle. One point to make, is that for some unknown reason, all the women in the same house will sort of come on or near the same day for starting so sometimes we change our cycles to match those we live with. That is wierd I know, but it happens.

most cycles are roughly 28 days, as each month has 29/30 or 31 days, you period will gradully change from beginning of month to the end of the month.

i.e. If the first day of your period was the 1st january, your nest period might be the 29th ( 28 days later) the next one would be the 27th Feb

so you see how it can change from beginning to end of month.

Count first day of your period and see how many days there are until your next period starts and that will be your cycle.

We do not have periods once a month because your internal body clock doesnt know the date and cant tell feb from march. It just knows your cycle length.
