Then why didn't you abstain?

Because most men and women aren't thinking about a baby when they are having sex (even though that's primarily what sex is all about).

They are thinking of themselves. It's just the selfishness in human nature and our drive for physical gratification without thinking of the consequences.

The important thing is to move past our mistakes and bring something good out of it. That means putting your baby up for adoption or making a good and loving home for him/her.

I think every parent has a moment over the course of the child's life from infant to adulthood when they wished they would have abstained. LOL!

In this day and age there is no need to abstain from enjoyable fantastic fun and healthy sex!

There is a need however to use adequate protection!

Condom Sense People. Always use condoms along with a secondary form of birth control (pill, foam, sponge, iud, ring etc)

Expecting people who don't wish to be pregnant to simply abstain is ...not realistic, and extreme.

I think we should GO FOR IT, use great protection, and make sure we are ONLY having sex with the type of people who would handle an unplanned pregnancy with grace and compassion.

Good Question. I got pregnant my Jr year in High School and I was on the pill and I still got pregnant. Ten 2 years later I got pregnant again also on the pill. After this my mother had me see a new OBGYN and only later to find out that my body did not like the pill so to speak. Now that I am 34 I have 4 children and I would not trade them for the world. Life was rough and there where many times I wanted to just give up and run I couldn't I had my beautiful children and my now husband of 10 years treats them as his. He is the best DAD there is to them. Life has a funny way of turning itself around. God would not have given you this blessing if he felt that you could not handle it. I am glad I stuck in there for the whole picture for I would be a lost person without the love of my children!!!

I think your real question is why didn't people who have unwanted pregnancies abstain to begin with? Well, it's because their human and it is human to make mistakes.

You can't tell me you never made a mistake that ended up being one of the worst decisions you ever made.

It's not easy for someone who is already used to sex to abstain just like that. we are all humans so the best thing i think we need to do if we cant abstain is to use condoms

excuse me, but none of your business....I had an unplanned pregnancy that I guess was in a way "unwanted" just because I was young and I though it could never happen to me, but you know what, my son's father and I have been married for 10 yrs now and live in a beautiful home and have a very intelligent beautiful 9 yr old son.
