Here, let me help confuse you a little more. When someone says the sky is blue, it's not exactly what I would call "blue". But it is a variation of it. Is Pi 3.14 or 3.14159? It depends on who you're talking to. Why do some teach 9.81 m/s^2 for the acceleration of gravity and others say 9.8?

To say all living things die is a FACT. To say the earth revolves around the sun in a period of 365 days is also a fact. However, this fact is based on NUMEROUS experiments with many different values. Over the eons, the AVERAGE, of these values, is 365 days + or -. This is the scientifically accepted value (fact). It does change though, every year, but this is the average time it takes for one revolution.

This goes for all of the sciences. The values you use in Calculus, Physics, Biology, are accepted average values.

I would say in most instances, with today's technology things are close to absolute but there is always the chance the current view could be changed.....

It was thought to be a fact that the earth was falt until someone came along to prove them wrong.

considering that we exist in an extremely small area of the known Universe, I would hesitate to state anything in "absolute" terms. Since most everyone gets their "facts" mixed up from time to time, it is all the more reason to take facts with a grain of salt.

i dont agree tht scientific fact are absolute coz many of the fact in physics are just hypothetical, being a physics student i knw wht it is.heisenberg's uncertainity principle is also 1 of thm bt we still accept it.many convention tht wer developed r still waiting 4 right result bt whtevr newton says is true,& v must accept it.also nice QUESTION.LIKED IT.
