or when ovulation is over the OPK will appear as not ovulating? Exactly how long does OPK stay positive?

The ovulation predictor tests are basically detecting the hormone surge that peaks right before you ovulate. Some women test twice a day to be sure they catch this hormone surge.

After you ovulate the test won't be positive so it will read that you are not ovulating.

Intercourse within 36 hours of the time your test shows an increase - that's your best bet for conception

12-36 hours before ovul.
One time I checked the test early in the morning and it showed positive for ovul. meaning I will ovulate within 12-36 hr. guess what, when I tested at night it showed negative. We missed it that month. But it showed me that I should test at night because I ovulated within 12 hr. Next month I tested every 6 hr...we are 10 weeks preg:)

It can, it depends on the person. I would get a positive ovulation reading for three days before it would go away, but I knew from taking my BBT that I ovulated the first day I got the positive reading.
