Yes, there's so much extra blood flowing through your veins, and with the weight of the uterus pushing down on the pelvis the blood can get 'pooled.'
I'm currently 38 weeks with my second child. I didn't get this with my first pregnancy, just with this one.
I have "Varicose Veins of the Vulva"...aka Vulva Varicosities. After standing or sitting up for long periods of time I would really swell. As with sexual intercourse and straining for bowel movements.
I was mortified because it's not comfortable, or what I would have thought of as 'normal.' I had never heard of it before then. My ob/gyn tells me it is quite common in pregnant women...he suggested to me, "If you find it too swollen you can put a thick pad on for support."
Yerite! I didn't, I just found laying down made it settle and go away. So put your feet up as much as possible and lay on your left side as much as possible. My dr assures me this will go away after I have the baby...I sure hope he's right.

You can buy special underwear online that gives support to the Vulva and the veins during pregnancy. I didn't buy them, but they may be worth a try for you.

Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!

Definately, from the pressure exerted on it. Especially happens in late pregnancy or early labour.
