Around week 20 or even earlier. I have been pregnant three times and got them as early as 18 weeks.

I think the average is to get them later in pregnancy, like week 30 or later, but that's just the average, and getting them much sooner or just in the final weeks is not abnormal at all. Every pregnancy is different.

You might also feel them sooner if you've had a baby before.

Early! I started noticing them from about 22wks 2nd time around and then by 32 weeks i thought I was going into labour every 2nd night at exactly 9pm for about 1/2 hr.

1st baby though, I really didn't notice anything major till 35-36 weeks but everybody is different and some people don't even notice braxton hicks contractions. To some people they are very painful and others don't even feel them.

You will notice your tummy go rock hard when you have a braxton hicks contraction so look for that maybe and if they don't stop and get regular and painful, get to a doctor!

Your uterus contracts always during your whole being pregnant. Most ladies simply do not suppose the contractions till later within the recreation. It is feasible that you're feeling common contractions at your degree, however you must nonetheless touch your physician and cause them to conscious of what's going down. The different likelihood is that you will be experiencing circular ligament suffering. This style of suffering happens out of your uterus stretching during your being pregnant. These pains have a tendency to be extra sharp/constant/persistant than braxton hicks (speakme from private revel in). But those are common to suppose as good. If you suppose the suffering once more, medical professionals endorse that you just lay down to your left facet (first-class blood drift to the youngster), drink a few water (dehydration can intent cramping) and chill out for an hour. Contact your physician if the suffering does no longer subside. Good good fortune.

I started having Braxton Hicks contractions in the second trimester of my pregnancy. I thought there was a problem but the dr. assured me that this was perfectly normal - everyone is different.

I only got them with my first pregnancy in the last month or so, but now with my second I had them as early as 28 weeks..if I remember correctly.

They're good. They're just practice contractions. Your uterus is just getting the exercise it needs to be strong to help push your baby out :)
