When my daughter was born i videoed her straight after and for 1st few years of her life i gave this to a friend to edit and put on dvd for me which he did now i discover it's on you tube when it was intended for myself and family only and her mother would never allowed it to be put on the net it and i also think he's copyrighted it what can i do if anything?

First ask your friend to remove it. If they refuse email YouTube and explain the situation to them. Big companies are moer willing to remove things due to copyright etc and unless you signed an agreement to let him show this you can have it removed.

It's rude just tell him to pull it off.
And how can it be copyright? Have you listed it on Copyright or Patented lists? If not it is NOT copyright and is unprotected. So he can put it on the site withput your permission.
Since he is a friend: ask him to pull it off the site NICELY - if you don't it could put your friendship at risk. Or worse, he could put more videos, if any, on the site as an insult to you.
Just ask him politely and I'm sure he will pull it off. Don't tell your wife as it could shock her - you know, like "what if paedophiles look at it..." etc...etc.... - it's better to just leave it at that and paedophiles generally have better things (or should I say worse?) things...
No one can rip that video off the net otherwise it could get Google (the company who bought it for $1.5 - 1.9 Billion) into mass trouble over copyright issues with major label companies such as Warner Bros., Paramount, MPAA, or the the British one etc...etc...
You don't have to worry about people ripping your video. As I have said before just ask him to pull it off, maybe he was doing it for just an experiment? Who knows but your friend...

Ask him to remove it. If he doesn't, then get youtube to remove it.
It IS possible for someone to have ripped it off the net, but I doubt anyone will have bothered doing so (it takes a good 1/2 hour to do a 5 minute video), so you should be fine there.

You tube have the copy-rite and you can claim ownership and get it put on private viewing only. That way you can choose who can look at it.

have him arrested, what purpose is it on you tube 4? dont it make you think, if hes put it on a web site what else has he done with it, id be thinking all sorts.

u cant delete the file that is uploaded because it wasn't uploaded by u;
1.ask the friend to please remove it
2.complain to the youtube authorities stating the problem
