has anyones first baby engaged after 37 weeks and still been on time? or were you late?

No. Some babies engage just hours before or right during labor. When your baby engages has nothing to do with how close labor is from starting.

For example, you could have lightening at 36 weeks but not actually go into labor until 41 weeks. Or you could feel your baby engage at 37 weeks and go into labor the next day. Every pregnancy is different and only baby knows when he/she is ready!

That doesn't tell you a thing about when he'll be born. I expected mine to be late for the same reason, but he was a week early.

Well my second baby was still "floating" when I went into labor. He didn't engage until I was in labor about 4 hours

No. All pregnancies are different and who is to say if one is early, another is late or even on time.

my doc said that it may not happen till your in labor, which dont mean you will be late at all
