I need some advice on how to stop dwelling in the past, to let go of hurts, disappointments, angry. I need some motivation on trusting people again. My emotions are weak and it's affecting my relationships.

To let go of the past, you must forgive those who hurt you; seek forgiveness for those you've hurt and then concentrate on the future. Use past mistakes as life lessons so you will not repeat the mistakes. Trusting others will take longer. Move slowly; listen well; don't rush in to new relationships.

Recognize and accept that the past can't be rewritten or revised. What WAS is over.

Reliving painful times is a monumental waste of time and emotional energy.

If it is mistakes you've made in the past that are haunting you, take heart. We've all made them. Accept your past and resolve to use it as a reminder to grow and become a better person. Learn from the past - but don't constantly revisit it.

Always move forward- not backward.

Resolve to remain grounded in the present and get on with the business of living in the here and now.

There is no quick fix or rescue. YOU have to decide to give up the ghosts of the past.

Life is hard work but you can do it. There are so many opportunities everyday to have a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life.

Go to any one of the positive living websites on the internet. They are filled with ways to change your life for the better.

All the best of luck to you...

Take one day at a time and each minute keep going forward.

I find if I journal out all of my hurts, disappointments, fears etc., I at least get it out of my head and written down. You will find that this helps greatly and also gives you the opportunity to see what happened and now you can fix it.

Make new, happy memories, and that helps. I have the same problem as you over letting something go that happened to me last february. Time heals all wounds, or so they say, but I know what you're going through. I still cry sometimes over losing Jessie, and it hurts like hell.

Me too dear!

I don't know how, but right now I would say work on little goals, and take baby steps to where you would like to be. Every little step you take will eventually lead you down the road.

Every little step will make you closer, and a little better off, until things are actually a hole lot better.

take a short vacation to a secluded place to clear your head (woods, beach, something) the when you get back keep an open mind about things such as stuff that reminds you of the past. instead of thinking of the past think of something else. or you could always move lol j/k
