If so, was it for an innocent question? What did you think? I did and don't know why. Opinions?

You could get a violation notice for any reasons. A lot of people get them because they have been reported for breaking the rules but there are people will go around reporting anyone just for the fun of it.
I got reported a few times now. One was for an answer that didn't break any guideline but someone just didn't agree with so they reported me and my answer was taken off.

This will happen from time to time. You need to get over it and don't take it personally. In fact - DON'T take Yahoo!Answers too seriously. This is mostly for fun.

Hope this helps.
Cheers from down under.

yeah, Ive got loads, to be fair some of them were for good reasons but most of them were for stupid things and there is nothing you can do about it!! when you get the email there is a thing that says "if you feel this content has been removed in error please email blah blah blah" but when you do that they just reply with a generic copied email saying they cannot discuss individual violations, so what the frig was the point in emailing them, yahoos decision is final and there is nothing you can do about it !!!

you are level 7 and never before got a violation notice ? amazing.

you just click 'report abuse' and that person will get a violation notice, and -10 points.

i.e. if you ask what color is the sky, and I answer its blue, then you 'report abuse' my question saying its objectionable speech, i get the violation notice, even it's for a silly reason.

thats yahoo for you

Abso-friggin-lutely!! Had 2 questions removed just the other day. Looks bad in your files so they piss me off. If they really were innocent, you might have a Hater on your tail.

The system must be somewhat automatic.... I have gotten about 5 or 10 of them... some I deserved, some I did not, and some I disputed and got my points back.
