You paid for the ticket therefore you have every right to be in that cinema.

I have gone on my own quite often. No big deal.

Depends on the movie the time and the theater.
If its noon on a week day and your friends are at work yeah go see the new Die Hard.
If its 2:30am and your up lonesome and heading to the Adult-O-Rama to check out the new Ron Jeremy flick....
That's not socially acceptable!!!!!

yeah, if it's a good movie and you are not 50. i went to a movie a month ago with my bf and there were very few people in the cinema (it was a small town) and in front of us was an old guy sitting alone. it was quite sad. but i think that he was waiting for someone and had lots of time to wait (cause i'm pretty sure that anyone can convince another to come to the cinema)

I've been on my own at least 2 or 3 times if nobody else I know has wanted to go. It can seem a bit uncomfortable when going in and leaving but it shows more courage rather than sitting at home.

I do, why should it matter to anyone? You don't sit and talk to anyone throughout the movie (well people do but they shouldn't!) I do lots of things by myself, including going out to a restaurant or a pub, and before anyone starts snide jibes, I have lots of friends I could go with but sometimes prefer my own company!

Why would you let a good movie leave the theaters just because you didn't have a date?

Done it many times.

I don't go to the movies. The idea of sitting directly next to some weirdo with popcorn breath while I'm watching "Monster" doesn't appeal to me at all.
