First of all, if you are 5'7" and you weigh 350, you need to lose the weight to begin with. All that extra weight will make your life a living hell. Two, even though the U.S. media wants to make everyone here seem thin, most of Americans are overweight. Third and finally, don't think about what other people think of you. If you spend your life worrying about what other people might think of you, then you will be too worried to be happy. ( I know about this one from experience)

There's a saying, 'Get in where you fit in' or vice versa. That's bull.
Just be you.
If you feel you need to lose weight, do so for health reasons not for society reasons because that's just one of many stereotypes your gonna have to deal with on this planet.

no, only rich people are obsessed w/ plastic surgery. there are sooo many fat people in this country so that doesn't matter. but for your own personal health you should lose weight because you are over the weight for your height

No, you'll fit right in. Everyone here, in fact, 2 out of 3 people here, are obese. We are fat, and you can expect to gain more weight. McDonalds are at every corner....

You may have to gain a few pounds otherwise (never mind the accent) - you'll stick out like a sore thumb and they'll force feed you

American also has obesity problems too - as long as you are comfortable and happy with your weight, then who else has the right to judge. Don't worry, enjoy living in the States.
