i don't know, but i'd like to think that it's kind of in a dream state :o) you know....having one of those really amazing dreams that you don't want to wake from and when you do, it's all forgotten.

i believe they are dreaming and sometimes when someone talk to them it will be in their dream and they will hear them. or they could respond by moving slightly.
