I'm at the final mission for the mages guild where Traven is supposed to promote me to Arch-Mage and turn into a gem (this starts the mission). Only problem is that the quest has begun but he doesn't turn into a gem! It says on the quest pop-up something like, "I've been promoted to Arch-Mage and must find *the main bad guy*" but when I check my rank, it's still Master Wizard. I can continue the quest but I don't have Traven in gem form. Is this a glitch or have I missed a step? Help me please!
P.S. I have the Xbox 360 version.

good job you have the 360, on the pc it is a pain to play it.
most likely you've got a glitch, and try reloading the game from before where you think it glitched.

I can't really remember how that plays out. It was many months ago when I played through the Mages Guild quest line. May be obvious, but have you tried talking to Traven again?
