They handle like there glued to the road. Very fast evo9 can be heck to insure so get a quote first. All hyper tuned all wheel drive cars are addicting bigger inter cooler and several modifications away from 350 hp or more. And that kills the warranty and reliability. Ever wonder why you don't see old WRX STI's and Lancer EVO's? I guess the owners have them in the back yard awaiting new motors turbo's. Go do your self a favor drive a Nissan 350Z

i have owned an evo3 a couple of years ago and now on to a skyline and believe me when i say this the lancer evo's are rude!!! and u'll be pushing m3's and old m5's down the road and around corners the only the only other car that will match it is a scooby but u want to stay away from scoobys as they are a little frigail where as the evo with a little work u'll see 350 to 400 bhp if u want speed and u don't want to slow down round corners then u need this in ur life!

they are great cars if they're taken care of properly. timing belts HAVE to be changed EVERY 60000. the gsr is just like any othe lancer, except it has an active center differential AND active yaw control, the usdm lancer only has the active center differential. it will also have a little more aggressive tune because they use a little higher octane fuel in japan.

Cautionary note on Jap Imports (I have one)

There are very few roads in Japan. The majority of japanese vehicles spend hours and hours of sitting in traffic jams and stop starting at road junctions.

Be very sure of it's previous history, if maintained properly then they are no problem, if anything, and I mean anything about it's history causes you any concern then do not buy.

Look at the steering wheel, carpets and pedals, if there are any signs of wear which are not commensurate with the declared mileage then give it a miss.

Remember that very few jap imports have been undersealed and very very few come with any reliable service history.

hope this helps

Rocketingly fast, capable of scaring the nuts out of much more expensive hardware, and you're nan can still drive it with kids in the back.

Be prepared for monsterbills wit fuel, tyres, clutches and brakes as you'll punish all of them heavily.

Be VERY careful when buying. A good one will run for ages, a bad one will run you into financial ruin!

I LOVE MY LANCER EVO 8... and don't listen to the reliability guy.. I see old B22 stis all the time, and even evo6 here and there.. they last as long as the jack off knows what they're doing... and doesn't put nitrous in a boosted engine... boost+burn=BOOM
