I have a primo terminator 150cc scooter, its an off brand from who knows where. It hase a single cylinder 4stroke engine and i replaced the piston head in it but i didnt look to see if there was any timing marks on the cam and chain so i dont want to put it together till i know. Any info and help would be greatly appreciated if you know if there is timing involved in a single cylinder.

Yes there should be timing marks of some kind. Find out where it is made, Probably China. See if you can get any correct, and I stress correct info, from Scootdawg.com. You'll have to join the forum of course. If possible hunt down a manual to guide you through the process. Most China engines are what they call GY6. It is a poor copy of an old 80's HONDA. Good Luck, You'll need it! Information is the key to solving your problem, that is the correct information. Some of those guys and gals do not know what they are talking about on the forum and some are very helpful. Oh by the way never buy a China bike again. Nothing but problems and unreliability. It is also possible the head you bought may or may not work for your model even though they say it will, Communist China does not care. I got myself in a couple of bad situations with 2 China bikes. A Linhai Yamaha (fixed and sold) and the Qlink Pegasus 150. The Qlink 150cc just blew a head gasket. Also it is water cooled and it has run hot and leaked coolant from the day I bought it. No dealer will honor the 2yr Warranty, although the company admitted to haveing cooling problems with some models because of too small of a radiator. I am Fabricating mounts and fitting an additional radiator at present time. Also will install new head gasket. It took me 2 Months and multiple phone calls and E-mails just to get the head gasket from Qlink-CFMoto. After repaired I'll sell it in good concience, which is more than I can say for USA Qlink dealers and Qlink-CFMoto company!!!!!!!!! Happy Trails now though I bought a Kymco Xciting 500 and the quality and performance is superb. The word all over the net and by dealers say they are the best scoots made. One model by Kymco the 125cc $2000 model is made in China. The dealer I bought my bike from won't carry and sell them. He will also not take any China bikes for trade in. Hope this helps you get started in the right direction. Don't be discouraged. Just be relentlessly persistant and you'll get it going again!!! David D

You will have timing marks both on the cam shaft and the chain. They must be keyed in sequence, or your piston job is shot. Try locating some reference material's here on Yahoo. Several discussion boards are up and running which could help. You actually need the tech manual on the motor and I believe it could be found here. Good luck on your hunt.

Piston @ TDC
Put something in the spark plug hole to confirm (coat hanger, safety wire, screw driver).
If it has rocker arms - both cam lobes pointing down (both lobes as far away from the rockers as possible).
If it has any mounting bolts for the cam sprocket, they usually are horizontal or vertical to the head (depending on where they bolt to the cam).
