Sad to say but the majority of Americans vote emotionally and don't understand our own system of government. Because people vote emotionally honesty does not get people elected. Being honest and making real opinions beyond:

I support education
I support healthcare
Kids first
Lower taxes
puppies are cute

If a candidate was a straight shooter everyone would find fault with that person based on their comments and beliefs. They don't look at a person for character. Meaning, they would not vote for that person because they know that person will do what they think is right. They vote for them because they like puppies, edjucation and lower taxes too.

You couldn't vote for someone with character today anyway. At least not through the republicans or dems. A person with character would never be nominated.

I hope more independats run who have the interests of our country in mind rather than their political carriers or money making as their primary goal.

the politicians are saying what the populations want to know, and do what needs to be done. this is not lying, it is like your muther saying 'take this pill, it will be a delight for you' and it is rather nasty.
The politicians do this, in a good country, because they have the best interests of the people in their heart. it is what I think. All well!

Because they want to get elected. They know that incumbants have a huge re-election rate, so once they are in, they can do whatever they want. They also know that the American people have short memories, and will have forgotten half the lies they told anyway.

They'll say what you want to hear to get your vote. Once they are elected, they don't care about you anymore because they have their own agendas to attend to.
