Yesterday I popped out for 5 mins to get the washing in, as I walked down my hallway past the lounge I noticed my son on the lounge carpet curled up in a ball holding himself whilst both my daughter & her friend were sitting, laughing. Guessing what had happened I felt embarrassed to intervene or go into the lounge to investigate. Whilst not knowing what to do, my daughters friend came into the kitchen and upon me asking what happened she replied that my daughter had kicked him in the balls and that she does that to boys all the time at school, for fun. Although my son is ok, I'm wondering whether I should say something to my daughter and if so what and if I do, will it make any difference especially as she witnessed me doing the very same thing to a man a few years back who wouldn't take no for and answer at a wedding reception. I'm a loss as to whether to say something or just ignore it

ok well first off, what you did at the wedding reception is wrong. now, i'm not judging you or anything, but it was still wrong to do that. after you've understood it wasn't right to do that, regardless of how much the guy was hitting on you, explain to your daughter that what you did at the wedding wasn't right, and that she shouldn't follow your example. tell her why it isn't right to do that (because it's extremely painful for men, and humiliating). kicking a guy in the balls should only be used as self defense.

Rachel you cant ignore this, your daughter could serioulsy damage someone by kickign them in the balls. OK she may have seen you do this to a man but the saying goes, "its isn't do as I do, its do as I say". If she mentions the fact that you did this to someone you have to tell her why you did this and you have to admit that it may not have been the best soloution to the situation at the time.

What would you do if your son (or anyone else for that matter) kicked your daughter full on in her bits???? Can you also imagine how your son must be feeling knowing that you have just completely let his sister get away with this type of behaviour, sorry sweetie but its bang out of order.

I would definitely not ignore this. I would talk to her and also get some counseling for her and probably for yourself as well. Kicking a guy in the balls is a truly awful thing to do to a man and it hurts very badly physically and emotionally and it should never be done other than in self defense. Your daughter needs help. Please get it for her.

Of course you have to say something, she could really hurt a guy, you could explain that there was a reason for you doing it, if she remembers the incident. Its not fun and it can cause infertility
