I go barefoot everywhere. I work, shop, dine, hike, and drive barefoot. I have been a full time barefooter for a year now and I love the freedom, comfort and health benifits of being barefoot.
Anyone who prefers to take a pass on shoes for reasons of health or comfort should be able to choose to go barefoot, free from arbitrary assumptions based on false or misleading information being used to justify exclusionary attitudes and policies.
How many times have you seen some variation of a “No Bare Feet Allowed” sign on a store window or door? If you live in the USA, chances are you’ve seen such signs more often than you’ve seen a sign stating BARE FEET OK! These anti-barefoot policies are often attributed to nonexistent “health codes.” The truth is, that almost without exception, there is no statutory basis for prohibiting bare feet anywhere, including stores and restaurants. Although store owners are free to set their own policies with regards to attire, there is no compelling reason to limit customer choice when it comes to footwear. Urban myths about bare feet being unsanitary, illegal or dangerous are generally based on lack of information and the lack of personal experience with regards to going barefoot. Studies have proven that everyday conditions in public places pose a greater threat to those who touch objects with their hands. It is more likely to transfer germs to your eyes, nose and mouth via hands than by way of feet.

Yes, I've been barefoot for over ten years, have never regretted it for even a second, and I don't intend to wear shoes ever again.

Absolutely, any time and place that it is even vaguely appropriate BUT then again usually when its not appropriate too. When I do "have" to wear shoes I wear flip flops.
I like my feet touching the ground, allowing my toes to stretch out, and as hocky as it may sound...feeling the earth beneath me, I find it very healing and "grounding" (no pun intented).
I'm kind of monkey-like too, in that I can do stuff with my toes like pick up stuff I drop, I came to that while holding babies, instead of giving us both headrush by bending over to pick up say a towel, I'd just get it with my toes!
I know weird....but its how I'm comfiest
