I vote Tombstone. Val Kilmer at his best IMO. "I'm your huckleberry."

I also like "Dancing With Wolves" though it was about the frontier and not really the West as we know it. And "Silverado", starring Kevin Costner, Kevin Klien, Dennis Quaid and Danny Glover.

By modern I'm including the spaghetti westerns too. I loved The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Clint was hot.

I like young guns, ok, i know its quite old now but emilio estevez was a perfect cast for that role..( he'll make you famous..)
