First...Thank you for your service, Shrek.

However, I disagree that the media should stop reporting on the troops. We should know what is going on. I do agree that they place way too much emphasis on the body count. But my big complaint about the media's coverage is that they totally focus on what's wrong over there and ignore the good things that are happening. I only hear about the positive side through alternative media sources. People shouldn't have to hunt for that information.

In the first place this has been going on since Viet Nam, they had some of the finest newsman and journalists in the world there. Some were as brave as the very troops fighting the war, they ate the mud, the dirt and were in the blood as much as we were. I've seen them pick up and hold bleeding men, helping medics and pulling wounded men to cover more then once.
There's a long list of journalists and cameramen that have been honored for dying in battle, I'll stand next to them anyday.
This goes back to the days of Ernie Pyle and the battles the Marines fought.
Cool your heels Pal, they serve a purpose too, just like you do. They do report every action over there and keep us informed. I raise and lower my flag by the day to honor people like you who are in harms way.
We want to know. My grandson has been over there for three tours now, I follow his actions through the news, it makes me feel better.
