Sara is more unusual than Sarah. I like both names, they are pretty, classy, traditional names. Don't let people put you off, especially the ridiculous tendy names some people suggest. I know it's each to their own and everyone is different and entitled to their opinion BUT some of these names! I feel sorry for these poor children putting these names on job applications etc. Go with your instinct. I quite like Sarah spelt the welsh way 'Sera' or even 'Seren' which is welsh for star and is used as a name in wales.

I have not come across alot of people named Sara. I think it is a pretty name. At least people will be able to spell it without having to ask. I don't like that about all these new weird names that look grammatically impossible to say or spell. My name is Tara and I love it. And I also like Zara. I knew a girl name that and she love her name also. You could also go with Kara. My best friend in elementary school as called that! Tara and Kara. You could also spell it with a C. However if Sara is what you and your husband want the go for it! Her class will be full of Madisen's and Emma's anyway. She will be original!

Sara is a very pretty, simple name. I'm not sure of the name trends now, HOWEVER when I was a kid (I'm 25) there were always 2 or 3 Sarahs in one class.
I wouldn't say it's a boring name, but very, very common. If playing it safe is how you do things, go for it!

It's very 'normal' which is fine if you don't like different names. But I would go on-line or buy a baby name book. There are literally thousands of beautiful, more original names than sara.

Sarah is a pretty name suitable for a child as well as an adult. Don't know about Sara though. It could just be me being odd. If you like it go ahead with it.

I think it's a boring name too. Pick something a little more interesting and have Sara as the middle name.

if you are pronouncing it the same way both ways then just spell it sarah..it will save a lot of confusion as the child gets older.i think it is a very common name but not one used with babies much anymore...not too keen on it but the name is your decision.
