Worrying and analysing things stops your brain from sleeping as it uses the left hemisphere of the brain and the brain needs to perform a hemispherical switch from the left side to the right side in order to fall asleep.

The right side of the brain is more imaginative and metaphorical - the minute you start using your imagination/visualisation skills, you brain will be more likely to fall asleep as you are using the right hemisphere.
