(d) 361

Amount collected from adults = 361(0.75) = 270.75
Amount collected from students = 330 - 269.25 = $59.25
Therefore, no of students = 59.25/0.25 = 237

Total no of people there = 361 + 237 = 598

0.75a + 0.25c = 330
a + c < 600
75a + 25c = 33,000
3a + c = 1,320
c = 1,320 - 3a
a + 1,320 - 3a < 600
720 - 2a < 0
2a > 720
a > 360
a ≥ 361

c = (330.00 - 0.75*361)/0.25
c = 237
a + c = 598

if a = 360
c = (330.00 - 0.75*360)/0.25 = 240
360 + 240 = 600, but 600 seats were not all filled.

Well lilee if they all were adults, it would be 440. That ain't one of the choices, however. Pick, the highest number, if your taking a test. That would be 367. (e.)

(a) 359.
Solve the simultaneous eqn:
x + y < 600
0.75x + 0.25y = 330

you'll get x < 360. which means 359.
