I have 2.8 pentium 4 thyper threading with a falat1y board, do any games I play even use that technology? Any need to get duo core?

Substantial difference. The 7800GTX is a faster card than the 7300GT. The 7800GTX can usually score 7700 marks in 3D Mark 05 while the 7300GT can only manage about 3650 marks.

Get the best nvidia video card you can afford. It will make a big difference. The majority of the work on that game is occuring in the video card. You will have a smoother performance.
