depends what I have to give up to believe. If it's safe to believe then why not? If believing requires a sacrifice-the bigger it is - the less inclined I am to just jump right in.

well, personally i'm a product of my environment, which has its ups and downs. But i am the way i am because i've been subjected to whatever bad experiences. When i was maybe 17 or 18 i was very trusting, i learned quick though!
i guess you could say 'jaded' would be the best word.
