Why can everyone see how flawed Spider-Man 3 was, but barely anyone is noticing how bad Transformers was? Most Spidey 3 viewers would say that it was okay, but made the BIG mistake of making Spidey go emo and barely making Gwen Stacy a character, and this is all well and good. But for Transformers, there were viewers who see how the film is just riddled with flaws and should be considered a terrible movie, viewers who recognize how flawed the movie is but think little of them since it's supposed to be nothing more than a summer action flick, and viewers who don't see any flaws at all and see it as the best movie they've ever seen.

How is the perception of one movie virtually universal, while the perception of another movie is literally all over the map?

it depends on how the majority think. Most are too afraid to speak the truth of how they feel, for fear of others opinions.

So most people become mindless sheep which are easily led to the slaughter of stupidity.

Meanwhile, as for myself, I saw both films, and didnt like transformers much, because it didnt have much colour, and didnt really follow the original close.

Yet Spiderman 3 , I Loved ! I think they did awsome with it.

And in fact, its my favorite of all three spidey films.

The only thing I wish they did, was have Harry's hobgoblin mask to look more like the green goblins.

Plus that awsome laughter that his father did.

But the whole film, Rocked.

Now with a little hope, there will be a porn scene in spiderman 4 of the blackcat.

well i can say that many people enjoyed Transformers because it delivered on exactly what they expected (action and some goofiness).
With Spider Man 3 there were many people that felt that the pattern from the two previous movies had been blurred a bit and they were let down by what they thought was coming. With the whole fact that Venom didn't get that much time from creation to end in the film that really made people upset. Also the fact the Sandman gets away that ticked many people off.

It is that whole market and deliver thing. Also for everyone to really be satisfied the movie would have either needed to have a concentration on only two villians or need to be a lot longer. And if I know most people sitting 140 minutes in a theater was enough so if the movie had been longer it would have lost lots of money.
Not to mention people get really picky to hear that a movie cost like $400million to make and would need to gross at least $800million to break even. I mean if you think that may not be fair look at the rep Water World got in 1995 for costing $175million to make and people didn't notice that is actually made a good profit.

i hear you but the answer would be you cant put every detail into the movie then it would be too long and cost to much its all about taking an idea and making a hit.if you want details then watch the cartoon or read the comics its like any comic or book that makes it to the big screen it will never have the full details of the book or comic.
