The Hindus say that what you achieve
in this life is a result of Karma of your
past births.
"Karma is a concept in Hinduism which explains causality through a system where beneficial effects are derived from past beneficial actions and harmful effects from past harmful actions, creating a system of actions and reactions throughout a person's reincarnated lives".

BLACK JACK.......
alot has to do with a person's up bringing......people that you see that seems to have no pride in any thing they do is probably because they were never given [taught] any direction as a child......as children we must be taught how to eat, talk, walk and behavior......after this we also must learn how to reason. this will develop a strong mind. then comes the right and wrong way to do things........their skills will show early in life......like how to.....play with other kids, cleanness, dressing our self and so on......
this mostly is the responsibilities of our parents. like in all things some care some don't....sad to say........it was a long time[in the 20th century] before this was discovered..........
in the end we must not base what we do in life on how others performs.......there are 3 things that children need and they are.. ..
discipline
motivated
and managed
it seems as if they get less of all three.....the adults that you and I see today was once a child......you sound as if you're a person who cares about what and how things are done.....
how was you raised?........i learned early in life that GOD wants the best there is for me.....to achieve this one must put things in their life in order.......
i can only recall something i learn a long time ago that help me in this same area........
some can
some can't
some is
and some ain't
some do
some don't
some will
some won't..
and the rest of us have to finish it.......
live right
live happy
and live long

Passion and hardwork makes a person standout and eventually succeed. Its also a matter of choice whether people can make it big sometimes. Some people are just contented with small things in life and that's a blessing too.

commitment to their work, definitely.
To many people give up in what they believe in or what they are researching in. The ones who spend most of their time loving what they're doing stand out and become successful.
It makes people respect that person.
My dad for instance, is my idol.
I respect that man and love him so much. There is no other guy like my dad.
He seperated from us for 7 years and will have to for another 2 just so we can get a great education in the United States.
He is 45 now and has started studying for the medical exam to enter the US.
His commitment and loyalty to mom, despite her depression, has made me realize that nothing is impossible in life.
If you work hard you can achieve great things.
NOTHING is impossible in life as long as you stick to it.
So yes, people stand out from their work when they see their commitment to it. No matter what it is.
Everything is hard in life, nothing comes easy. You gotta work.
And its the people who give their best at it that stand out.
