I was shopping for clothes and found this beautiful top. I asked the middle-aged woman behind the counter if she had it in my size and when I told her my size, she gave me a contemptuous look that was like 'sure you are, sweetheart'. I felt like walking out but I didn't because I really loved the top.

this happened to me when i was in high school buying a prom dress and i told her i was a zero and she said with those hips we will try a 5 and my mom said i'm sorry mam we will take our business elsewhere and she was so embarrassed she did not know my mom heard her so we went to the next store and i got a dress i loved and it cost me more than the other dress was but it was a good feeling going back to the store to buy some earrings to match my new dress.

Dang, that sucks.
Well, I try to avoid talking to people about my sizes. I hate when ppl ask.
Hasn't happened to me.
My mom did go buy me a new sized shirt cuz the one I had on, even though everyone else said it looked good, was "too tight." w/e.

No, cant say that that ever happened to me. Dont worry about it though, you will understand when u get to be middle aged. We feel desperate at what we have lost (bodies nd looks) and it probably shows on our faces and in our mannerisms. No excuse for being rude, I understand.

no because I just look at a shirt, and if it looks like the right size, I will buy it.

WHAT IS SOCIETY COMING TO THESE DAYS? EVERYONE FEELS THE NEED TO COMMENT ON OTHER PEOPLE'S SIZE WHETHER YOU ARE FAT OR SKINNY. IT SUCKS!
