thanx all for the help. i know alot of guys named shannon...really only 2 or 3 lol. but i love the name for some reason. my husband wants to name the baby if its a boy henry but i think its to old.. i lovee gracie but i think you guys are right..grace sounds more grown up so when she gets older it will make more sense. so grace and owen are my choices....thanks all for the congrats and good lucks..

I've always known Shannon for a girls name, I think he'd get teased. I definitley like "Gracie" spelled with an IE better. And Owen is so cute! Owen Wilson (the actor) is hot, so your baby boy would grow up sexy lol
Congrats on the pregnancy! Good luck with the name!

I love Shannon and Owen- and Shannon was originally a boy's name so don't worry what others say!

Grace is beautiful and if it were me, I would name her Grace and call her Gracie when she's little as a nickname.

Oh... I love the name Shannon on a boy! It's so refreshing to meet someone who actually knows its originally a Masculine name! However, he probably will get teased. That won't be too bad, because he'll get teased no matter what ... and it's not as if you're naming him Ashley (which is also, technically, a masculine name), but you'll probably get harassed about it more than he will.

Owen is adorable, but becoming more and more common.

I prefer Grace to Gracie ... you can always call her Gracie, but since Gracie is more childish you don't want her to be stuck with something too "cutesy" or "childish".

Some other names you may like are...
boys:
Riley
Caden
Garrett
Aidan
Gavin
Kian
Logan
Shae
Rory
Keegan

girls:
Clara
Brigette
Sadie
Ginger
Jade
Sage
Lily
Lucy
Ava
Eva

Where are you from? I have never met a male named Shannon. What about Shane, instead of Shannnon. Grace and Gracie and Owen are all good names.

I think those are great names. Shannon is a strange name for a boy, but I think its a very good name. I love the name Grace for a girl, if I have a son I want to name him after my father. But here is a website where you can look up names and meanings and origins.

Shannon for a boy -NO.

Owen and Grace are good. If it is a girl and she wants to go by Gracie, she can, but she might like just "Grace" when she is older.

Hi - I love Grace for a girl which is sometimes nicknamed as Gracie as well. Shannon for a boy sometimes sound feminine but I think it is a good name. One of our Australian Idols name was Shannon and he doesn't seem bothered by it.

Boy names are always harder for me than girl names. Luckily, I had a little girl. her middle name is Grace and I absolutely LOVE it. I loved it as a first name but it didn't go well with her last name so I named her Madelyn Grace. Gracie is so adorable too. I like Owen for a boy and I love the name Landon :-) Best of luck through out your pregnancy!

Shannon is a girl name..maybe Shane or Shawn is cute..
I also like Owen..and for a girl Grace Marie or Madison Grace is cool...then you can call her Gracie as a nickname!

Grace - Gracie as a nickname :)
I'd have Owen first just so you can have a second named Shannon (just in case kids are cruel, he has someone to smack them around lol). I know a few guys named Shannon and Ashley, they are freakin huge! (muscular).
