Mccann talks as though he's just realised that children go missing and that its so wide spread....furthermore he acts like he's the only one ever to speak out about it. Perhaps he should have prevented one childs hell by staying with his own children that night....I am so bloody mad this man is on TV lecturing the rest of us on what to watch out for to safeguard our children....Please someone tell him and his sheep...we know....we've always known....its one of the reasons there is a Childrens Act...its why the like's of you should NEVER be allowed to speak out about how to keep children safe. You are not qualified..! I would not take any advise from anyone associated with you or your campagn because the very fact they're standing shoulder to shoulder with you bloody pair means they condone what you did or at best forgive you, I will never be such a sap, our childrens very lives depend on it...

Who are he trying to fool???? He can't even look after his own, how can he talk about child welfare when he couldn't carry out the most important basic parenting role.
Well it looks like our American folks have been sucked in (or possibly "forced" in) I wonder what has been promised now on behalf of the British people to set Gerry McCann up over there. Any responsible parents will automatically have said the children should not have been left alone. They had the option of a baby sittiing service which they did not take.
I do not have children, but realise that when you do, you can no longer have the holidays you want. The McCanns have not taken responsibility for their actions.
The arrogance of these two astound me.

In my opinion, the single most important thing the McCanns could have done to prevent anything like this happening again was to put their hands up at the start and say 'We fecked up - please don't make the same mistake'. Rather than come out with weaselly comments like 'thousands do it' and 'at worst we were naive'.
Then it is probably the lawyers advising them not to admit liability in case it implements them in any future court proceedings.
Those lawyers of course paid for by the fund people thought would help find Madeleine - not protect the parents from the reality of what they done.

he is dictating to people who already know that children shouldn't be left alone.i would be concentrating more on finding my daughter than talking about statistics.he has left the trail of looking for his daughter and seems to be trying for world leader in child welfare.If he knew anything about this subject he wouldn't have left his kids that night.he is a hypocrite and a liar and needs to stop and think before he open his mouth because the last person on this earth i would take any notice of on a subject like this is a neglectful father.

If they hadnt neglected their children that night then they wouldnt have one less than what they went on holiday with. They should be CHARGED with child neglect and child endangerment rather than be hailed heros for what they have done.

This is not highlighting the problem of child abduction, this is the Team McCann strategy to highlight their own profile in order to raise more money for themselves.
Maddie is probably dead or will never be found.
It is a shame and maybe Team McCann should of thought about it before leaving their children on ther own before heading out on a night on the town.
They should be both questioned by social services in UK and not be allowed to travel the world making money out of this sad event.

well done Nicky - I think you have encommpassed MOST rashionally thinking people's thought's and views, you DON'T leave children unattended and then bleat afterwards that one has gone missing.
My children are 11 & 13 years and I don't even let them go to a bathroom when we are out unless they go together, - yeah I know OTT [ over the top] but better safe than sorry!

Good to hear you're not taken in by this narcissistic man. His behaviour since the child went missing has been suspicious and every act designed to deflect blame from him and his wife for leaving three small children unattended for hours in an unlocked room while they ate and drank.
He seems to have high up contacts in the UK and the press has been gagged by his lawyers. I hope the US press will speak out and roundly condemn this disgusting man.
