I have this thin purple scarf that has different shades. Dark purple, violet, lighter and then white, then the pattern repeats. What would be a good colour to wear with it besides black?

White an any shade of purple that is in scarf. Take the scarf with you when you go shopping. That way you can actually see what looks good to the scarf,

I can think of several ideas. How about yellow. A yellow top, purple scarf around your neck, yellow and purple print skirt, capris, Or a white outfit with purple flats or flip flops. Or white. I've seen people wear purple and red together. Accessories help tie colors together. Good luck!

If you wear a black shirt/t-shirt you could dress it up with pretty purple earrings, Otherwise you may be able to find a pretty mauve or pink top to go with it. As long as the tones in the shirt complement the tones in the scarf you should be right. You could also go with a cornflower-blue top. If you go shopping take the scarf with you to match it. How about layering a couple of vest tops like voilet and maybe purple and a black skirt over skinny jeans, and the scarf would nice maybe as a belt or around your neck.
