I was aprorached by a scientologist in Herald Square who promised that if I joined Scientology, I will learn the secrets of curing all my stress. I told him I was stressed cause I didn't understand quantum physics, and he said "If you join scientolgy, you will learn that evrything is in your head, you can raise your IQ with scientology"
It freaked me out cause he wouldn't let me walk away.

Yea, a religion can raise my IQ.... did they really think I'll buy into that? What next, scientology can teach me to fly?

Scientology does have techniques to get rid of your stress.

If you are truly stressed from not understanding quantum physics then Ron Hubbard's study technology can help you.

Look at the situation for a moment you have a problem without a viable current solution so you become stressed.

Where is the stress? It not in the quantum physic. So it must be in your head or your body, ok so how does it get there? Scientology has the answers to that. How does the stress get re-stimulated Scientology has the answers to that.

Can a raised IQ help you handle situations in life? I'm sure that it can.

The main way I saw my IQ increase was having less stress and less stupid problems that I could not solve allowed me to look and understand much quicker. Hence a higher IQ.

You will find many people in society that cannot hold a conversation, that cannot confront their boss, their wife or even their children. This can also be solved with Scientology techniques.

Yes. Scientology seems to be a cult of some sort; cannot BELIEVE the behavior of some of them, honestly.

Look at the celebrities for example: Tom Cruise openly said that there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance, and criticized Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants. Well, Mr. Cruise, obviously there's nothing SCIENTIFIC is SCIENtology otherwise they wouldn't say such nonsense. As someone with a chemical imbalance, I was OUTRAGED to hear that be said. Unfortunately, they'll never know unless they have the unfortunate experience of dealing with it. And the rumor about Katie not being allowed to cry or scream during childbirth? Gimme a break.

Yes, they're scary. They're all seriously quacked with those beliefs. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people accepting others beliefs when it comes to religion. I'm a person who believes the only thing not to be tolerated is intolerance. The thing is, the basis of the scientology creed totally goes against anything that's relatively scientific. As if there weren't enough idiots in the world already.

You can read the Bible yourself and I personally try to stay clear of anyone who says that you need their "leaders" to tell you what everything means. The way to cure your stress is simply to do the best you can and turn the rest over to God. It's a matter of turning it over on a daily basis. BTW, everything is NOT in your head. The only way to raise your IQ with Scientology (Mormons and so on) is after you've been bilked out of everything you own and you realize that you been screwed. I had a cousin who went to a meeting of theirs years ago because of a girl he liked and we finally had to get the number changed. They don't let up.

To be totally honest with you, Scientologists make me laugh - and laugh REALLY hard. I mean, have you read any of their hokus-pokus alien toxin mumbo-jumbo? Read this:

http://www.xenu.net/

HOWEVER, I tell you as the oldest of five kids (some of my younger siblings still being in school) what really scares me is fundamentalist Mormons. The horribly criminal and twisted things that go on in some of those compounds is scary...

Of course, I have never met a fundamentalist that I liked...in any religion.

no. they're just weird and delusional believing all kinds of insane crazy things that haven't any practicality or fact to them whatsoever. (like most cults) to each his own. but next time, just politely as you can tell them youre not interested in whatever they've got to offer. Or tell them you cant stand L.Ron..... lol And then if they keep at it..... just turn your back and walk away. Sometimes being abrupt like that is the only way out of a conversation.

Sounds just like every Christian and Jehovah's Witness I've met in my life. I haven't met a pushy Scientologist yet. That's new to me. I don't doubt it though. Extremists of ANY religion can be creepy and intimidating.

Just remember that all those promises are only valid untill you join.

Sometimes they are partially true, but there's tons of "terms and conditions" that apply. It's just a way for them to market themselves.

Fear is not of God...and we are more than conquerors in Jesus Christ...
What you need is what we all need: to be rooted in the Word of God...for it is Written in His Holy Word that we need to study to show ourselves approved unto God rightly dividing the Word of Truth... and you would have had an answer...Get involved in a Christian Church; God does have a plan for your life... He loves you very much...Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

It is also written that we do not need another person to interpret the Holy Word of God for us, but the Holy Spirit will do this for us...Beware of false prophets...
It is Written that there will be many false prophets...and there are many antichrists... Draw nearer to God and He will draw nearer to you---Repent and start following in His ways...

Father, you are holy and we praise and give you all glory; by your power and your Holy Spirit Father convict hearts in Jesus' precious name; Amen & Amen...Now repeat these words and mean them in your heart "Father, I am a sinner in need of a Savior. Jesus, I believe you died on the cross for my sins and the Father rose you again three days later. Come into my heart and be the Lord of my life and my best friend and by your power and the Holy Spirit guide me all the days of my life...in Jesus precious name; Amen & Amen..." And every Angel rejoices!
