If you have a room and a window, would you place the ventilator pointing towards the room so the air inside circulates or pointing outwards so the hot air from inside the room leaves pulled away by the fan and gets replaced by external (supposedly cooler) air? Strange question, but for us living in the tropics it is important. Thanks

You've already answered your question ..... correctly! It's all about common sense.

Outward to push out the heat; inward to bring in the cool air.

You'll end up circulating hot, humid air no matter what. What you should do is, turn it on in the morning, right in front of an open window, and let it bring cool air in. Do likewise at night.

Get thick drapes for the window, and close them during the day. That way the fan will keep circulating the cool air it blew in overnight

If it is hotter outside point the fan into the room to stir up the air and create a breeze..if cooler outside point fan out the door and open the window to draw in cooler air.

Point the fan outwards for the entire room to be cooled. If you point it inward, you are only blowing cool air where the fan is pointing. Stay cool!!

I would point toward the outside and use it for an exhaust fan. Hopefully, this will pull in cooler outside air and cool more of the house. good luck..

either or both can work, depending on the situation.

if it's your bedroom and the room is hot and you're ready to go to bed for the night, point it blowing in.

if it's your whole apt at 5 p.m. and you want to get it generally cooler for the evening, point one blowing in and one blowing out. or if you have only one, point it blowing out, but come bedtime, point it blowing in.
