Does she and her friends like any particular music? Often you can schedule not just a tour to a local radio station the station management might just be game to have her and her girl friends get on the air with the DJ and have her party right there. A litlle creativity on your part, let's say letting them choose the songs for the half hour or hour if you can swing it and convince the station to have the girls tell why they picked certain songs. Talk about community involvement and if the staff at the station is cool enough, with a party going on, music, eats, loads of fun if planned and coordinated with the station management. What a story to tell their friends afterwards for the rest of their lives. Happy thirteen from Mouse Town and the MOONNEWS.net team.

A day at the mall. Look up stores like Libby Lou where girls get cheap make overs. They get to act all grown up! It's very becoming.

Ideas for Princess Party Decorations:

* I had saved a large screen TV box and painted it Grey and then did black mortar to make bricks...the top of the box looked like a castle wall. I wrote Princess (daughter's name) castle on it and nailed it to our swingset where the slide was. Holly in Severn, Md #2059

* The cake table had a blue tablecloth on it and I had strung white lights around it and strung the silver icicles over the lights so the light would shimmer through. I placed the cupcakes in a heart shape on the table. I also had "glass" slippers. Crystal in Kennewick, WA USA #12502

* I bought a roll of red plastic sheeting at our local party store and rolled it down our front walkway. This served as our "red carpet". I also purchased and hung pink, lavender & purple helium balloons strategically lining the walkway. I outlined our double-front doors with pink tulle and flanked them with helium balloons. Shelly in Danville, California; USA #10293

* The table cloth was another pink disposable covered in a white clearish lace plastic table cloth (All in all, I used 10 tablecoths for tables and decorations, a total of $10). With the "lace" one on top, it made it look like a very light pink. Very cute! Renee in Suwanee, GA, USA #11779

Ideas for Princess Party Food & Cakes:

* Centerpiece is the castle cake (made by Mark's mom), princess foods Jasmine's jelly sandwiches; Cinderella's cheese chunks; Ariel's watermelon, Belle's bugles, Sleeping Beauty's chocolate dipped strawberries & Snow White's apple slices (these were only prepared at the last minute (only cut up two to start) as the other princess food is announced and displayed on the table. Penny in Litiz, PA #8879

* Next we served the Castle Cake we had made using two 9x13 pan and three mini loaf pans....My husband fashioned a moat and a drawbridge with flags and we used icecream sugarcone for the turrets, and gumdrops all around the castle. Kimberley in Great Meadows, NJ USA #7865

* The food was all white red and pink. Mostly various pretty biscuits, jam tarts, and sweets. I tried not to over do it so the girls had room for cake. In tea pots we had chocolate and strawberry milk, which the girls drank out of their china tea cups. Sarah in Exmouth, Western Australia #6683

* We had a treasure chest cake, Star shaped rice krispie treats with a stick in them to look like wands (could dip in chocolate and add sprinkles) Holly in Severn, Md #2059

Ideas for Princess Party Activities:

* We played "Kiss the Frog Prince". I had made a poster again out of light pink posterboard, cut out a neon green frog, glued it on, cut out a mylar silver crown put that on, and then decorated the crown with purple glitter glue. Renee in Suwanee, GA, USA #11779

* Each child started out by standing on a picture. Using a CD boombox, we played "Bippidy Boppidy Boo" and the kids paraded around in a circle. When the music stopped, whoever was standing on Cinderella won a prize. Shelly in Danville, California; USA #10293

* Our daughter sat on the throne with the older Princess. The knights & the Princesses raised their swords/wands at the same time & cameras just clicked away. Jazmin in Bellflower, CA USA #9605

* I had premade the girls hats using pink posterboard and special see through shimmery ribbon that I hole punched each hat and attached....I tested one on my daughter to make sure the ribbon was long enough to easily tie under her chin. Kimberley in Great Meadows, NJ USA #7865

* We had a dragon piata hung from a front yard tree. It was actually a dinosaur piata, as it was available locally and cheaper than any dragons I could find. My daughter had helped me glue construction paper wings and fire out its mouth. Julie in St. Charles, MO USA #7198

* Other games were Pass the Pumpkin (AKA Pass the Parcel) with everyone winning a lolly in each layer and the birthday girl winning the final prize. Heather in Adelaide, Australia #2056

Ideas for Princess Party Favor Bags:

* Each girl was given a "goodie bag" which was a pink or purple plastic backpack (purchased from Everything for a $1) that I had painted with "Princess _____" and drawn a crown with paint pens. Renee in Suwanee, GA, USA #11779

* Also each child received in their goodie bag crayons, a princess snack and a baby food jar that i had put glitter in that I labeled "Fairy Princess Dust" and I decorated the top with pink fabric, tulle and a bow with a note attached (I did on the computer) that said must only be sprinkled outside for magic to happen. Kimberley in Great Meadows, NJ USA 7865

* Heart stickers, red white and pink candy, a packet of heart candy with little sayings on them, and a pink braclet were the favours. They also got a bag of pink fairy floss (cotton candy).
