Good question.

I'm always amazed how people can come on here and give their "informed" opinions again again and again---informed, because they "follow the news", so they 'really know what's going on in the world'.

Not only here though. Just turn on CNN, Glenn Beck...tune in to Rush Limbaugh or KFI, a local talk radio station in LA. They're all "well-informed". Ahd they definitely speak the truth.

But, what about that old adage: The first casualty of war is truth. Doesn't that mean anything? I'm not trying to suggest I'm in the loop about the state of affairs in the ME, but I can't help question ANYTHING that comes out of the mouth of any of these people--simply because I know that the amount of bullshit is in direct proportion to the prevalence of war.

Why don't the sheep realize that too?

we must learn to keep things in proportion ,take an event called
911
3000 people died in one day by an act of terror
yet 4000 people die every day by adverse reaction to perscribed by docter , made by multinational s ,[legal] drugs

much depends on our pespective , if we are a good leader serving the people we figure ways to help people [ie medicine , education as well as security ] educating docters and testing the affect of legal [operscribed drugs , as well as the real affects and cost of booze [killing 35 people per dat [average per hospital]

if you are serving other masters [who help you get elected ], who make money selling legal drugs and chemicals for ''healing'' or and for war , you take the perspective of 3000 people dying in a condemmed building to create a hysteria , that makes you look like your a leader ,[one who can protect us from real and present dangers] by beginning a war ,thus looking to be ''tough on terror''

just as the war on drugs allowed those seeming to do something about perscribed drug deaths , by a tough on drugs approach , allowed by declaring a drug war on those drugs selected to become illegal [one even a plant [never having caused any deaths ]

soon the real terror lies hidden so deep amoung the spin it begins to affect all policy and terrorism has become the law

My family fled Islam in the 1950s.
We've had decades to get perspective.
We've been expecting this war for decades.

Our government (U.S.) is one of the best informed groups in the history of the world.

Having had two parents in government gives one an interesting perspective.

I watch the news and public stand around criticizing the government like kibbutzers in a park watching two players at a board game. They laugh at them, call them names, talk about their stupid strategies, how they don't know how to jump their men properly, move the pieces the wrong way, and should move out of their seats and let a real leader play who knows how checkers should be played.

The two players shake their heads and keep playing...

...chess.
