Hi,
I like Oprah but my other half thinks she's a big phony. He thinks that she pretends to care to draw in suckers like me and keep making millions of dollars. I think that it shouldnt matter, she is raising sooooo much money for good causes and she is a very smart woman and her heart is in the right place. What do you guys think of her?

And she spends the millions on people who need it desperately. See the houses she built for victims of the Tornado. Or those sick and ill in Africa.
At least she is open about what she is raising and for what. There are many who could do this but do not.
I for one respect her. I watched her rise. At first they all made fun of her. Now those same bow to her.
Even David Letterman had to eat humble pie.

I admire her . She worked hard to get where she is - and I respect that . She's not a phony - just a very self assured , confident woman that has every right to be . She gives alot of her money and time to help many people . It's her money so if she wants to help Kids in Africa or whatever - hey - she worked hard to be able to do as she pleases . I believe Oprah's heart is in the right place - and that is what really matters .

I love her generosity with the girls school in Africa and the Angel Network. But, Oprah needs to refocus her show about everyday people and not just her famous friends. I agree she's an awesome business woman and her heart is in the right place. But, she seems like she needs to do more hands-on volunteer work to humble herself. Sometimes (especially when she's out with Gayle), she appears to forget about where she came from. Overall, I think that she's for real.

I think Oprah tries her best to be friendly. But because she's so rich and successful some think she's phony. She's done so much good, I think others may be jealous of her accomplishments and think of her as phony. In my book, she's good - but I don't like it when she flaunts how she has "connections". She's got a good heart.

i think she is a very successful woman over the last 20+ years. one of the things successful millionaires do is donate to charities. whether she contributes a drop or a gallon shouldn't matter. making this relation to phoniness or genuiness should not be an issue. at least she donates. i don't think this is a barometer of determining someone's sincerity

I do care for Opray and I do admire her for what she does .
She has given to many different things . She already mentioned she would have done more right here in America , but we have so many restrictions to meet as to how and what can be done ,and not only one person has the say .
She gets alot of information out there for all of us , and always says we can be anything we want to be if we put our mind to it .(I no that is true , but at the same time , opportunities have to come your way ) and that doesnt always happen .
Sometimes I would like to see just some plain poor people on her show. Most of what you see , doesnt seem to be too poor . Always alot of great actors and what they do .
Saying all that I still like her . She has come a long way and worked for it . And yes sometimes when your rich at times maybe people do forget where they came from , however , I dont think she has !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to meet her , i find her very inspiring .Including Gale .

I agree that she is a smart woman. And she is a champion of causes.
My sister feels like your other half. She told me just yesterday that Oprah was a phoney. My boyfriend watches from time to time and admires her moxy

Oprah is so damn phony....don't get me wrong I'm glad that the sista has done so much, but she is soooo phony. As a sista you would think that her magazine would appeal to black women as well as white...but when you read it...there nothing in there but a whole lot of tips for white woman....I'm not a racist by any means....but it seems like Oprah knows that only white woman hang on to her every word so that's who she caters to. And don't get me started on Gayle.

I like her alot and I don't think she is phony however she is starting to brag to much on who she knows "out west".

She's a bit of both, but she has to be somewhat phony to pull in the ratings.
