I have assumed that I have a short somewhere that is causing this blown fuse, but I would like to know if anyone might know the area of the short.

I own a '95 Ford Taurus Sedan and the fuse controls my radio, clock, dome light, interior door lights, ding indicators for leaving on lights and leaving keys in car. I have tried replacing the fuse and before I can even install it, it sparks and blows.

I prefer to have an idea of where the issue is coming from before I take it to a mechanic and they try to tell me it's something else entirely.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

I have not tried to by pass the fuse, I have left the fuse out as it seems rather pointless to me to have a blown fuse in place. My battery seems to be functioning just fine. I had it tested about a month ago during a routine oil change and it was fine.

One common problem area is the cigar lighter, but that is just a guess. It is hard to tell where your problem is without doing some diagnostic work. You may want to take the car to an auto electrical specialist, rather than a normal shop. You want someone who is experienced in these problems!

Not had the best idea and it's not a 1 amp fuse but should be a 10 amp.. another thing is to read the owners manual and see if anything else is on that circuit as the other thing may be blowing the fuse also

I have personally had a radio clock short out and kill my battery and that is probably what it is.Do not bypass fuse,it could cause a fire.
