It is amazing to me how many young women come here wondering if they are pregnant or have an STD.

Isn't birth control fairly easy to get these days?

Listen dude~ I realise the difference between STD's and pregnancy, my point was that neither form of protection is happening, condom or pill.

You can thank abstinence only sex ed for that. Parents aren't teaching their kids about sex, and therefore expect the school system to. When the schools don't teach about safer sex, the kids don't learn it anywhere. And sadly, a lot of kids think abstinence is simply not having vaginal intercourse. They do everything else but that, and think they are safe. Then they wonder how the girl got pregnant when "all they did" was have unprotected anal sex.

We need comprehensive sex ed in this country, but sadly with a religious minority dictating what should and should not be taught, that is never going to happen.

My motto is "use a condom every time, the entire time."

Yes, it is amazing as being I was that dumb once. Well I guess twice. 2 kids would say so. LOL Well birth control is easy to get but most teens are scared to let their parents find out. As I was. Not only birth control, but how hard is it to get a 50 cent condom? They are in most public gas station restrooms. Some health departments even give them away. Also more than STD'S they should be worried about AIDS and ruining their lives at such a young age. You have to have an education to work and if you have a baby and are responsible you won't have time for much of an education. Hope you agree with my point of view!!

the numbers are no worse than 10 years ago so it doesnt really surprise me. it saddens me though that kids arent being taught how to protect themselves

Amazingly birth control doesnt do anything for STI's.

And thats probably why so many people have them.... because they are as educated as you!
