svo order. The English language uses a certain order in sentences. Subject (he, she, they, me, it, the cat) Verb (run, thanks, walk) object. (you, them, whatever that action is happening to, etc). The car ran a red light.

thank you very much is "I" thank you very much. I= subject thanks= verb you= object.

That's how the English language works. "Very much" modifies "thank you".

We do say "I am very much thankful to you" or "I thank you very much" or just thanks a lot.
