I recently bought a gamepad for my computer games and the connection is like one of those you connect to the printer connection or whatever on the back of the computer. My laptop's back blue connections are too small for the gamepad's connections so are there any adapters I can use so I can connect my controller or anything like that?

If it IS a PC gamepad and has a 15 pin connector with 2 rows, 8 pins on 1, 7 on the other then it is the "old" Joystick connector/midi connector type. U will need a USB / Gameport converter, plenty available. This will allow you to plug this gamepad to a USB port. Might be about same price to buy a USB gamepad.

If you only ecently bought the pad, and have packaging, try taking it back, especially if you ask3ed for help and they suggested it for a laptop.

You are referring to the game port? The newer notebooks no loner come with this. You could get a USB adapter:
