My dad is losing his job this August and we're gonna be short on money. My school changed the dress code & now I need a bunch of new shirts because many of my shirts are against the new code. I want a few other things too.
I have over $1000 in my savings, and I'm thinking that I'll have to delve into that and my parents wont be able to pay me for doing work around the house. They're already becoming stingy with the money..but said that they'd buy a little for me.
I wanted to sell some of my clothes and old toys and things, but my parents won't let me/help me.
I'm too young to work at most places, and I don't have a car so I can't get a job. I turn 16 in December so gift cards aren't for a while. I don't know people with young kids. I will not work in the food industry. Its hard to get rides to places from my rents because of gas $$$. I thought about online begging, but i don't think my parents would approve of me doing that.
any ideas of what I can do to get money?!! I'm out of ideas!

Also what are some cheaper clothing stores that have cute clothes? I know about thrift shops and Goodwill like places, but ever since I was little I made a big deal of how I didn't like clothes from there and now I'd just be embarrassed to ask to go there.

As a fifteen year old, you can get a work permit and work like 18 hours a week (at least you can here) try a grocery store and yes fast food. You cannot work anywhere where you will have to sell cigarettes or beer/liquor. As much as fast food may not sound appealing, it is a fact of life that if you need money bad enough you'll do what you have to do to get it. When I was 15 I worked in a fast food place and it wasn't so bad... I was a cashier in the drive through window and all I had to do was bag the food, take the orders and the money and some cleaning. Cleaning was bathrooms and dining tables and sweeping and mopping. Some trash. And when I closed I cleaned the shake machine which just meant free shakes for me.
I walked to work. It was a mile away. Not bad really. And my manager would often times give me a ride at night and my brother worked there too so when we worked together he drove me home and some friends.
You could offer to mow lawns. Or offer to help elderly people with cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.
As for clothing, Goodwill isn't really such a bad place. And since there's not much money coming in, even though you said you hated the place before I'm sure your parents would appreciate you asking to buy from there. And now is the time of year where there are lots of yard sales so you can pick up new shirts for $1.00 or less.

Jack knows what he's saying...
You need money and a job, but your being picky about where to work and your saying no food industry... so pretty much your saying you wont work somewhere that will hire you...
I'm sure you have a billion outfits so deal with the clothes or go to the thrift store and since i know you wont do that, just shoplift from the malls, i mean, your not a rich spoiled brat anymore so why not steal to make people believe you still are?
why doesn't your dad get a new job? it seems like a smart idea... or is he stupid like you and unable to apply where he can get hired?
millions of people make way less than you do and survive... you might have to sell your house or something and downgrade to an apartment... but thats alright... you'll still be able to eat, and sleep under a roof and have clothing even if its not hollister or guess, or are those below you and i should be saying Gucci and fendi and dolce & gabbana

You appear to have a computer, rip peoples CD's to some kind of storage device and charge a fee.

Its also education, tell your parents technology is a hot field - unless thats what your dad is getting laid off from. Think its legal also, as long as you are not making a copy for yourself. You could also do the same thing with scanning digital pics.
The other thing, you mentioned is not knowing young kids, but you could always post an add at a nearby church, or look up groups like "Mothers and More" in your area and see if theres a way to post as a babysitter - and take the Y or RedCross course - its pretty cheap. The good thing about babysitting, is if the kids go to bed early, you'll be getting paid for doing your homework or other things youd be doing anyway.

not sure about the money part cuz 15 year olds cant get normal jobs, but i can help with cheap clothing part. i shop at Ross! sooo much better than goodwill. ive gotten american eagle, limited too, and all other kinds of brands there before. i think just about every piece of clothing i have is from there lol. and dont be embarrassed to shop there. i used to be(im 17 now by the way), but now i just laugh when i think about how the other girls spend twice as much money as me for the exact same thing lolol. and im in the same boat, dont feel like ur alone with money probs. ive had my license for almost a year and arent even close to getting a car, i will most likely be riding the unairconditioned school bus during senior year while all my rich friends have bmws and mercedes uhhh. lol

umm when i was fifteen i was working at the pool at my country club in the summer.
you justneed to ask around. some places will actually hire 15 year olds.
dont be completely opposed to working in the food service. i was a hostess also at the country clubs on days when they needed me.
A hostess is an easy job
Just go everywhere in your town.
We have a store called Plato's closet where you can bring in current used brand name clothes and they give you money back for them, maybe you have a store like that near you but i think Plato's is local to like Cleveland/Akron

start a dog walking business, as well you can also do dog washing ....
you can make about 10 dollars for client who you walk for 30 minutes or cut them a deal for frequent clients who use the service more then two times a week
as far as dog washing , for sm dogs under 25lbs
charge 15 dollar
med dogs 26 lbs to 55 lbs
25 dollar
large dogs 56 lbs and up
35
if the dog has a think furry coat add 5 -10 bucks
and use thier hose.

First, learn proper grammar. This is essential in securing a job.
Maybe you shouldn't have bought all those whore, hollister clothes hmm? That way, your clothes would be appropriate. This is also essential in job hunting.
When I applied for my job, I made sure to clean the blood stains out of my clothes. That's how Jack Bauer does it.
