Only one person you have named has made an impact worth mentioning in the NFL, Roy Williams. Shaun (not Sean) Rogers was great at Texas, but has not played to his expectations in the pros, as well as Mike Williams and Joey Harrington. CJ I will say was a can't pass. Ernie Sims will improve, but Kevin Jones is being dotted out by Tatum Bell at the moment. The smartest thing would be to play the 2 RBs together and have success thats been proven of late. Hell, even Joe Gibbs is falling in favor of the 2 back system. But as far as Millen, he has made some very poor decisions as well as good ones. Its unfortunate the poor ones make more press.

Its not his picks....it's the coaching! I hope Mike Martz will turn it around on offense but
Harrington is just like Ryan Leaf....he's a big bust! Kevin Jones was great at VT but he's got to get behind a solid line to get anywhere! But the foot injury last season will hurt his playing time and will share it with Tatum Bell. But why, over the last 3 years have they taken a WR? They need an offensive line! They need a solid D too! I mean Sims was a good pick...he'll stay a couple years and want out to a franchise that will win more than 6 games a year. But where has that franchise been the time he has been gm? Hopefully this season will turn around. I'd rather see them win then the packers!

How could not think that? I not going to comment on the players, only that Mike WIlliams is now a Raider.
Everyone mentioned about the players that were drafted since he's taken over, which the GM always has a say in. What about the coaching staff? The only thing that probably let him keep his job is hiring Mike Martz as their offensive coordinator. Thanks to him they saw the potential in Kevin Jones they've been waiting for.
The scapegoat for all teams going through years of failure will always be the GM.
I had to add this after seeing someone type that the Lions are going to take the division. Your forgetting about a team call the Bears aka Monsters of the Midway;

Unfortunately, since he's been GM the team hasn't fared very well and the picks that he made are the ones that the boo-birds didn't want him to pick = bad GM.
EVERY GM out there in EVERY PRO SPORT makes choices that many fans don't agree with.
SO WHAT.
It's easy to criticize when you're not responsible for anything.
Screw them.
I'm not a fanatical Detroit fan but I continue to watch them when I can and keep up with them as best I can.
I'm on the bandwagon this year because of the addition of CJ and others to the passing game.
I'm expecting at least a 10-6 season and the Lions taking the division.
At the very least 10-6 and a wild card.

The year before he took over they were almost in the playoffs.
Since then, they have the worst record in the NFL.
He fires coaches but doesn't resign, clearly indicating that it's not HIS fault.
How does a team get so bad and stay so bad if the GM is even mediocre at his job?
Oh, and the "no-one can say so-and-so won't be great" claim...didn't you learn anything from the examples which came before?
Finally, Millen is an arrogant jerk who alienates players, his staff, and the fans.

Look the Detroit Lions have had the worst record in football over the last 5 years. I cant even remember the last time the Lions were in the playoffs. Any good GM would be able to actually win every once in a while.
