earth's lava(fire), water, ice(solid water).. plus the air and land.. are the elements that keep the balance in Nature..
lava are responsible for keeping the heat under us and holds earth in it's place trough gravity. tectonic plates move at their command keeping the flow of air and the right temperature livable. water is not just nourishment, for when there is water there is life. ice is necessary for keeping water on the right level. and the air we breathe is essential for the harmony of other living creatures, from plants to animals and us, carbon dioxide and oxygen... so as long as the balance is kept, no need to worry...
the world will end when one of these elements dont comply with Nature's law.. we as humans often break it. so it wont matter how the world end, just as long as we can keep them in harmony, and be responsible with our actions... we might have another year, another decade, another century, another millenia, another era to live..
the golden age is yet to come.......let's not wait till the gold becomes a tarnished nickel.

One would think that what began as fire and molten rock would ultimately meet it's demise by water and ice, but when the first rains came down the molten rock only used the water to form it's shell, and build its oceans. And when the ice came the Earth shrugged it off as a growing pain. Even now the planet reminds us of it's unstable youth by flowing lava, and opening up the ground to destroy what we have built, in order to remind us of it's superiority. I believe that one day the Earth will tire of us, as it did the Dinosaurs and find a way to rid itself of man, and since mankind has already survived an ice age, the only logical thing our planet can do is burn us out.

I think neither. But there will be plenty of earthquakes and other tumultuous events all over the earth, with a variety of everything. I believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and the earth will not literally be destroyed because we are waiting for Him to come and reign over the earth. There is a lot of house cleaning to do in the next 15 to 20 years, though.

It will be fire this time. Either from thermonuclear war or when the nuclear processes in the sun cause it to get much, much hotter. In about, oooooh, 2 billion years.
