it's a camp, you'll be around people 24/7, you'll make friends and find the right people to hang with, don't stress over it, just when you get there, try talkin to people, remember that many of them are in the similar situation so they would be glad to talk to you and get to know you. don't worry about it.

While at the last camp with your friend did you meet anybody else that you liked? I'll bet you did. I like Tom's answer. Especially when he told you that for many reasons you will find yourself somewhere where you don't know anyone and will meet new people. Some you will like instantly, some will take some getting used to and others you'll just want nothing to do with. I'll bet your first day at this camp you will find someone you'll like and they will like you right of the bat. Camp is a fun place to be where you do meet new people and learn new things and get to do fun things together. Go with the attitude that you are going to learn all they teach and have all the fun you can. Do that and most the kids there are going to want YOU for a friend.

Good luck, have LOTS of fun then come back and tell us all how it was.

Hey, I had to do this for three years. It can be really scary even though you've done it before. If you have trouble approaching new people or if everyone already has their groups, it can be even scarier. The key is to not be intimidated. Everyone says confidence, which in a sense is true, but to help convince yourself better it's more of a not being intimitaded thing. If you're happy with who you are that's even more to help convince yourself to approach people, too. One thing that really helps me is to not think about results or anything and just do something. You get in trouble when you think too much or worry too much. Just whatever you do, be yourself, you'll get to be around the kind of people you really want to if you're honest in who you are and will have a much better time.

meet people...and don't judge others...this will be hard, but you never know what kind of people they will grow up to be...they might end up nice...keep e-mail addresses so you can keep in contact with them, even if you only send them one e-mail a month...or just on christmas and their birthdays...you will benefit from the diverse people that you meet from all around the country...trust me...this is an awesome time for you, so get the most out of it. plus, since you won't have any friends there from home, you will always have other friends to talk to about stuff when you go back home...have more than one set of friends is nice when you need a break from one set...oh and take lots of pictures..you will laugh at them when you get older...

I used to get stressed when I was a kid too whenever I was going somewhere by myself. and you know what? I always seemed to have a good time and there was nothing really to worry about in the first place.

i'm sure you will be with kids your own age in your tent circle. just be friendly, say hello, and if you are the shy type, look for another shy person to befriend. this person will be greatful too.

try to relax and have fun!! i'm sure everything will be okay

This will be a great opportunity to make some new friends. Remember that everyone else is most likely feeling just as shy and/or insecure as you are, so don't be afraid to be the first to say hello.

While there you will meet some new people and maybe make some new friends. These are things you'll be doing for one reason or another for the rest of your life. Just relax and enjoy it.
