The first time I earned money I ironed clothes for a friend of my Mom's. I was 11 and got .10 for each piece ironed. My first "real" job was tutoring (age 14) for $1.10 an hour. Long, long time ago for both.

I was 12 years old . Use to deliver groceries on Saturdays This was during the great depression of the 1930's. I earned a dollar plus tips. Tips were scarce but usually 10cents. Sometimes a real sport would give me 25 cents.

My brother's babysitter offered to pay me to help her with her booth at art faires.. I made $25 each day (nothing considering I'd be up at 3 am to go with her to the storage place, load the van, we'd drive all over the place, I'd help set up, helped sell, helped tear down.. sometimes I'd be behind the booth by myself for a few hours.. ) It was fun though, and being a vendor other people with boothes would occaisionally give me things that they were selling at the end of the day.. Overall I'd say it was a good experience..

Babysitting for my uncle's 2 kids for about 50 cents an hour. Besides babysitting I also had to do their dishes from the day before a few other chores as assigned day by day.
