If her music is taking up so much space that she is using most of your hard drive, then I would suggest you NOT go with a flash drive, the WD Passport is a good idea, I cannot imagine how many songs she has, but at some point, it might be time to get her to clean up the old ones she doesn;t listen to anymore....:)

Yes, the Western Digital 160GB 2.0 Passport Portable External Hard Drive would work to store files from iTunes (music, movies, games, etc.). Just make sure you get an external hard drive with enough space.
In iTunes, you will need to configure it to download the content to the hard drive.

Good luck! Have fun with iTunes :-)

You can get rid of iTunes(and the music files) and the iPod if she has one ....hehe.
Seriously, what you suggested will work perfectly ... just a note
that it is the songs that will be on the external drive and not iTunes. Also, don't get into the habit of buying a new drive every time the disk gets close to full. If she doesn't listen to her music all the time, burning the files to dvd will work also.

She must have a lot of song to put a dent in your hard drive, something like 5,000 songs or more. If she has thousands of songs I would get a new external hard drive not a flash drive. Most flash drives only have 1-2 GB and which only hold like 500-1000 songs so it wouldn't really be worth the money.

There are actually external hard drives that have 40GB worth of space. But its bulky. I would suggest a memory card with pod for usb usage so she can store them in a memory card instead of a flashdrive but they only go up to 2GB per card. Maybe best to get a cdrom writer combo - so whenever she downloads from itunes, burn it into a cd with mp3 format so she can play it outside of the computer on a dvd or mp3 player instead.

A USB flashpersistent can carry something, yet has a constrained area, commencing from a million-50 GB. A flashpersistent is used for fast use, storing issues like installers, photographs, video, folders, powerpoint demonstrations, etc. some thing to take around with you. An exterior challengingpersistent, inspite of the undeniable fact that, has a great extra suitable area, yet can carry in basic terms photographs and video. in case you like some thing transportable, get a USB. in case you like some thing to shop your powerful moments, get an exterior challengingpersistent.

It would be cheaper to get an internal hard drive and install it as a second drive for storage but an external will be good too.

That would be one solution, another is it burn them to disk that way she could also share them with friends or take them to a friends to play.
These can also be converted to play on a cd player, post again for how to do this.
