Since I was 18 I've been advised by an eye doctor to either eat more items with Vitiam 'A' and zinc or take a supplement with them. I gather the theory is that your body has trouble using the Vitatim 'A' for your eyes witout the zinc.

Bilberry and coleus are both good for eyesight.
A Yahoo search for bilberry + eyesight (OR vision OR cataracts) and another one for coleus + eyesight (OR vision OR glaucoma) will tell you much more.
