If an up or down vote were allowed on ANYTHING in this country, there would be no republicans in office - anywhere.

Because the liberals are not voting on the real issues of the war and the consequences of what will happen if we leave now. They would be voting on poll numbers and what the main stream media is saying people think. They are all about winning the White House back, all of them not just the candidates. They need to look at the trees not just the forest.

Up/down vote by who? And what war?

The House or Senate? Doesn't matter because absent a veto-override margin, any Congressional vote to end the occupation in Iraq is going to be vetoed.

Because the Democrats control the Senate and House and are the ones who determine when and what is voted upon.

Why you want to play games with the lives of our soldiers is another question we should ask.

What is the point of such a vote? It is simple theatrics of the anti-war faction of the Senate. It doesn't carry any real affect on the war.

take a look around at some of the idiots in this country. would you want people biased by the media to be making a decision that could affect the entire world? the way our government works is the people elect people into positions who we feel will make good decisions about things we arent fully informed about.
