Ok, no perverted results. This is a real problem and I don't want creepsters being...well, creeps. I recently got my period for the first time. For about a year before that, I've had vaginal discharge. It's not foul smelling or oddly colored, it's just there. Now, when I got my period, there was still discharge in the blood. What does this mean?

It's a normal thing. Every woman has discharge. If you didn't, there would be no lubrication. You can also tell when you ovulate by looking at the discharge. If there is more than normal and it looks like egg whites, you are more than likely ovulating. And, if there is discharge in the blood that is more than likely normal. Us women have all kinds of weird problems, don't we???

Hi,

There is nothing to worry about it!...Its just normal for all the girls to have vaginal discharge. About 6 months to a year before a girl gets her first period, her body may start to produce vaginal discharge. This is normal and is caused by the changing level of hormones in a girl's body. This discharge helps to keep the vagina healthy. Isnt it a good news for girls!!! Girls continue to have vaginal discharge after they get their periods. Women also have this discharge, which continues until menopause when their bodies don't make as much of it. The matter is vaginal discharge should not be in yellow color and with odd smell and should not cause you itching or burning sensation. If so contact doctor.

If it is not a strange colour, nasty smelling, itchy or burning, then it is perfectly normal!

Your vagina produces natural lubricants (a bit like the way your mouth produces saliva), and sometimes the glands producing this misjudge how much is needed. Overly moist s a lot mor comfortable than dryness.

The lining of your vagina will also loose dead skin cells, just like the skin anywhere else, and these are cleaned away by the natural lubricants.

Clean and dry the external areas only on a regular basis and you will be fine.

You may notice the discharge is greater about half way between periods, this is when you are most fertile, and is the body's way of preparing you to concieve. Wear a panty liner on days when the discharge is particularly bad, and change it regularly to stop any risk of smell or infection.

Welcome to womanhood!

It's definitely completely normal. All women have discharge, it's how the vagina regulates itself and keeps itself healthy. Also, there is discharge that correspond with different times of your cycle (like ovulation). And there's some when you're aroused. Only be concerned if it's a strange color like yellow or green, really thick, or has a really bad smell because this could mean infection.

It means you are normal. I get that too....I think most of us do. Period blood can be mixed with mucusy discharge. And discharge is normal...sometimes it's clear or white, sometime there is more sometimes, there is less. See a doctor only if the discharge turns a color like green, gets really itchy, or smells bad. You are fine, sis.

I'm not sure what you mean by discharge in the blood...

When you have your period, you aren't just losing regular old blood, you're losing the lining to your uterus that was growing to support a baby. It is different than if you were to have a cut on your finger that bled. The blood that comes out of your vagina will be thicker and sometimes have "clots" that are kind of gooey and gross, but are completely normal and nothing to worry about!

well i cant tell what it is since you really didn't discribe the discharge. maybe you should tell your doctor. you could probably have an infection or just a little minor problem. but talk to your doctor before it becomes serious.

What color was the discharge? Was it clear? If it was clear that is normal, but if it is any other color, then you need to talk to a doc.
